Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash in Medina County

GRANGER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Medina Post is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred Monday afternoon.

The crash happened on Ledge Road in Granger Township.

Background information indicates a black 2008 Ford F-150 was driving west on Ledge Road when it drove off the roadway, striking a guardrail and overturned into an embankment.

OSHP said the driver was identified as Ricardo H. Rivera, 57, of Cleveland and was pronounced dead on scene by the Medina County Coroner’s Office.

The passenger of the Ford was identified as Staci M. Schlegel, 42, of Cleveland and was transported to EMS to Metro Health Cleveland Main Campus.

OSHP said it was assisted on scene by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, Hinckley Township Fire Department, Hinckley Township Police Department, Bath Township Fire Department, Granger Township Fire Department and Jon’s Towing.

The crash is currently under investigation.
