Fremont teacher gets three year prison sentence for sex crimes against a minor

FREMONT, Ohio (WTVG) - A former Fremont teacher was sentenced to three years in prison Monday for multiple sex crime charges.
According to court records, Alan Mehlow, of Fremont, withdrew his previous not guilty plea and entered a plea of guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one count of attempted tampering with evidence.
An administrator with Fremont City Schools told 13 Action News that Mehlow is a teacher with the district and has been placed on unpaid leave.
Mehlow had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student. The report said the teen admitted to the relationship.
