Roof collapses at Mayfield Heights City Hall

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - A portion of the roof at Mayfield Heights City Hall and Service Building collapsed Wednesday morning.

The complex is located in the 6100 block of Mayfield Rd.

Around 9:15 a.m., staff inside the building noticed the ceiling in the building department’s kitchen had collapsed about a foot and the roof had shifted.

Mayfield Heights Fire Chief Bruce Elliott said the East Tech Rescue Team was called to the scene to stabilize the roof and ceiling.

Chief Elliott said the collapse was isolated to that kitchen area and there were no injuries.

As a precaution, everyone is being kept out of the area.

Mayfield Heights City Hall houses the Service Building, which includes Mayfield Heights Police & Fire Departments, the Mayor’s Office and other government agencies.
