I-490 bridge reopens after massive building fire in Industrial Valley neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A massive building fire early Tuesday morning in Cleveland’s Industrial Valley neighborhood, closed the I-490 bridge for hours.

Calls started coming in around 4:14 a.m. after flames broke out in a two-story abandoned factory building in the 2900 block of Independence Rd.

There were no injuries reported to either civilians or firefighters.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

After inspecting the bridge for damage, Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) workers re-opened the bridge around 12:45 p.m.
