Bear spotted in Northeast Ohio

AURORA, Ohio (WOIO) - A bear was spotted in Northeast Ohio.

The Aurora Police Department shared that a bear was spotted in the northeast part of the city.

The bear was seen near Crackle Road, Eggleston Road and Homestead.

The Aurora Police shared a few tips to stay safe around bears and how to prevent them from rummaging for food in your yard.

The ODNR gives the following tips to keep your backyards safe from bears:

• Keep your trash in a garage or secured container
• Remove bird feeders temporarily
• Keep pet food inside
• Clean grease from outdoor grills
