Guardians beat Tigers, lose Ramirez, DeLauter and Martinez

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Guardians beat the Tigers 3-1 at Progressive Field on Saturday to win the series, they will play for a sweep on Sunday.

The win was bittersweet, they lost three key players to injuries, the worst being Jose Ramirez.

Ramirez fractured his wrist on a swing in the 5th inning.

Earlier in the game Angel Martinez had to leave with a left foot bruise, he fouled a ball off himself and could only play two innings. Chase DeLauter left in the first with bruised ribs, an injury he picked up when he smashed into the wall on a Gleyber Torres double.

Ramirez is likely headed to the injury list and will miss some time, but the team will have a more definitive time table on Sunday morning.
