Law enforcement officials investigate serious felonious assault in Westlake
WESTLAKE, Ohio (WOIO) - A large law enforcement presence is at the scene of a serious felonious assault in Westlake on Friday afternoon.
Westlake police say the Westlake Fire Department received a call for an unresponsive 57-year-old woman in the 1600 block of Canterbury Road.
Police said officers were dispatched with an ambulance, and the woman was transported to University Hospitals St. John Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The woman’s husband was taken to the Westlake Police Department as part of the investigation into her injuries.
Police and Ohio BCI searched the home for evidence.

Police say the husband has been arrested and that possible charges of felonious assault and disrupting public services are pending.
Police say the woman is in serious condition and that this was an isolated family incident.
Police say there is no danger to the public but expect a police presence in the area for several hours.
