Cleveland firefighters battle blaze in Slavic Village

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Firefighters were called out to a house fire in Slavic Village Wednesday morning.

A caller reported seeing smoke in the 6300 block of Gertrude Ave. around 9:15 a.m.

Cleveland Fire Lt. Mike Norman said the blaze began in the kitchen, but all occupants were able to escape safely.

The fire was brought under control by 9:30 a.m.
