Multiple flight attendants report feeling sick during flight from unknown odor on plane

HONOLULU (KHNL/Gray News) - Multiple flight attendants on a flight heading to Hawaii required medical assistance this week after feeling ill.

First responders from multiple agencies were called to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport Thursday afternoon.

According to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, seven patients became ill from an unknown odor on board an inbound flight from the continental United States.

A Hawaiian Airlines spokesperson said the Alaska Airlines flight between Los Angeles and Honolulu operated as a Hawaiian Airlines flight, which reported an odor in the cabin.

Paramedics and EMTs evaluated seven Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants outside Terminal 1. The airline said no guests were affected.

First responders noted that those evaluated experienced nausea and headaches. But all of the patients declined transport to the emergency room.

Hawaiian Airlines thanked medical personnel for their response and said the plane was being inspected before returning to service.
