Joshua Skinner
Reporter
Atlanta, GA

Joshua is a multimedia journalist who writes, edits, and produces his own stories on deadline.
Living by the motto that the news shouldn't be boring, Joshua mostly covers “counterprogramming” assignments, focusing his stories on the people, places, and problems that often go uncovered in metro Atlanta. Using creative writing and pushing the boundary of what qualifies as a standup (he once got a tattoo for a story), Joshua has won numerous awards for his breaking news coverage, continuing coverage, weather reporting, health reporting, environmental/energy reporting, and beat reporting.
His story about the growing market for "catios", "Catio Bob", won a 2026 EMMY for Best Daily News Report. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences named him the Best Daily News Reporter in the Southeast in 2024, 2025, & 2026. He was named the Southeast's Best Sports Reporter in 2025 & 2026, focusing his work mostly on youth/high school coverage.
Before arriving in Georgia in spring 2023, Joshua covered the people and athletes of West Texas, where he was twice named the Texas Association of Broadcasters (TAB) Multimedia Journalist of the Year and Reporter of the Year.
A service academy graduate from Texas, he spent most of his twenties gallivanting around the Atlantic, Europe, and the Middle East, courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer. In his free time, you can find him in the gym or a good history book (Currently reading "1929" by Aaron Ross Sorkin). He believes putting pineapple on pizza is an unforgivable crime.
