Stark County high school student faces felony charges after pulling fire alarm: Police

STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A Stark County student is facing charges after pulling a fire alarm at their high school, according to police officials.
Perry Township Police Chief Bryan Taylor says Perry High School evacuated Feb. 2 after the fire alarm went off.
Taylor said Perry police and fire officials determined the student pulled the alarm.
That student, who has not been identified, has been charged with inducing panic, a second-degree felony, Taylor said.
“As a community, it is important to remember that this type of behavior is not only a criminal offense but also creates a substantial risk,” Taylor continued. “Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with their children about the serious consequences of committing such an act. By doing so, we can help prevent future incidents and ensure the safety of our community.”
