88 ‘suffering’ animals seized from Lorain County farm amongst ‘many dead’
GRAFTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - The Friendship Animal Protective League confirmed 88 animals were seized from a Lorain County property on April 10.
Chickens, dogs, ducks, goats, pigs, and rabbits were taken from a Grafton Township farm over the course of five hours.
The group acted on a search warrant with the assistance of other local rescues, including Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary, Inc. and Whispering Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary.

While over seven dozen animals have a chance at a new life, some were sadly not as fortunate.
“We found 88 live animals on the property that were seized, as well as… many dead animals on the property as well,” Friendship Animal Protective League Executive Director Greg Willey stated.
Willey said the warrant stemmed from “accusations of animals suffering as a result of untreated medical ailments, and unsanitary conditions on the property.”
While the APL did not want to share the grisly images, they shared this of a goat’s foot:

“That results from unsanitary conditions and the housing the animals lived in. It kind of gives you an idea of what that should look like, that’s obviously a very misshapen foot. That should not exist in nature,” according to Willey.
The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office said the APL did not file an official complaint, so the APL will handle the investigation.
Further details have yet to be released due to the active investigation.
