2 women indicted for driving elderly dead man to Ashtabula bank to withdraw money

ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The duo accused of putting a deceased 80-year-old man in a car, propping him up and driving to an Ashtabula bank to withdraw money from his account have been indicted, according to court records.

Chief Stell said the two women lived with Douglas Layman, of Ashtabula, and found him dead on Monday, March 4.

After visiting the bank, the women allegedly dropped his body off at the Ashtabula County Medical Center, without providing any information on him.

APD charged the duo, identified as Karen Casbohm and Loreen Feralo previously.

Ashtabula County Court records say both were charged with gross abuse of a corpse and theft from a person in a protected class.

A court date has not been set.
