North Olmsted City Schools have new Superintendent

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WOIO) - North Olmsted Board of Education members appointed a new Superintendent at their Monday evening meeting.
Chris Caleris was appointed to the role of Interim Superintendent effective April 16 and superintendent effective Aug. 1.
Most recently, Caleris was the district’s Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Services. He started his career with North Olmsted City Schools 23 years ago.
Caleris worked as a math teacher at North Olmsted Middle School, the Assistant Principal at North Olmsted High School and Principal of Butternut Primary School.
“North Olmsted is truly a special place with a dedicated team that cares about our students and their success,” said Caleris.
“As a board we met to review applications for the position and engage in the interview process. We all felt that Mr. Caleris was the right person to lead our district at this time,” said Board President Megan Murphy. “Mr. Caleris’ years of experience with North Olmsted and his positive rapport with our district and the community, gives him the ability to step in as interim superintendent immediately, but also long term, puts him in a great position to bring all of our stakeholders together to maintain our excellence as a school district and build momentum for positive change,” she added.
