Parma resident speaks out following pothole problems

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - People in Parma are tired of living on a road where they constantly have to dodge potholes, and it’s just a matter of time before someone get’s hurt.

Martin Mild has lived on Craigleigh Road for more than 20 years and says it has been a decade since the road was repaved.

“You always got to drive in the middle of the street because you can see how bad it is along the edges,” he says.

A few months ago, the city said they were going to do something about it and then they came and patched.

Mild says the patchwork is just a short term fix that isn’t working. And their complaints to get a long-term solution are just being ignored.

They say they’re going to look into it, or they’re going to fix it, and nothing.

So the 19 Troubleshooters team called the city. A spokesperson for Parma tells me the service director is aware the street is in rough shape, but unfortunately it isn’t a simple fix.

The road repair involves replacing the septic system.

The goal is to have the $3.5 million dollar project receive final council approval on June 17.

And if that doesn’t happen, Mild says its going to affect the way he votes this year.
