Shooter fires into Akron home, injuring woman in upstairs bedroom

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A gunman fired multiple rounds into a home, injuring a 47-year-old woman in an upstairs bedroom, according to Akron police.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. Monday in the 40 block of Spruce St.

The victim was shot in the arm.

Police said her injury is considered non-life-threatening and she is receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Her name is not being released at this time.

Police added the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown and the evidence collected from the scene will be processed.
