Man fatally shot after fight in Akron, police say

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - Akron Police found a man with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of an apartment complex early Saturday morning.

According to a release from Akron Police, officers responded to a shooting around 3: 15 a.m. in the 500 block of Carpenter St.

When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old man outside with multiple gunshot wounds and, according to the release, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The Summit County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Mashoure Snyder, of Akron.

According to police’s preliminary investigation, an argument between Snyder and another man began inside an apartment and continued outside, where the shooting happened.

Police said they detained a 49-year-old man on the scene and took him to the police station for questioning, but then later released him uncharged.
