PICS: Hit and run damages, closes Charlie’s Dog House Diner

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - An Old Brooklyn diner is closed until further notice after a car crashed into the building early Sunday morning.

Charlie’s Dog House Diner posted on Facebook that a car slammed into the building and fled, forcing the restaurant to close.

“We’ve been here for 18 years,” said the owner, Tami Johnson.

Johnson told 19 News that a maroon pickup truck with front end damage drove into their storefront and took off around 4 a.m.

“She saw a maroon, red-ish pickup truck right here in the intersection leaving the scene,” Johnson said.

Charlie’s Dog House Diner said it will continue to post updates.

“It sucks around the holidays...it sucks for the business,” Johnson said. “We’ll be shut down for further notice.”
