CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A huge sinkhole has closed a portion of E. 9th Street downtown.

City officials said the southbound lanes and one northbound lane of the road between SR 2 and North Marginal will reopen after being fully closed Friday morning.

The curb and the second lane of East 9th will remain closed.

North Marginal will close between Coast Guard Drive and East 9th Street in both directions, according to city officials.

The sidewalk along the entire east side of East 9th Street will be barricaded off to approximately 75 feet north of the North Marginal.

Pedestrian access will be provided on the Marginal roadway (south side) for the Browns game, city officials told 19 News.

Crews are working on repairing the sinkhole and city officials said they will be providing updates as the repairs progress.

The city is still working on determining the cause of the sinkhole.
