CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) -It’s been more than three years since someone killed a Cleveland woman in a hit skip.

Her heartbroken sister won’t let what happened to her be forgotten.

Mary Ann Pasko-Burey was 35 years old when she was hit by a car and left to die.

She was walking on Storer Avenue near W. 56th Street in Cleveland when a driver struck and killed her on December 30, 2021.

“Put yourself in my shoes. Like what if it was your sister or your family? You know, I have no words,” said Barbara Pasko, Mary Ann’s sister.

“She had a heart of gold and she didn’t deserve this,” she said.

Pasko told us she will never give up on trying to find her sister’s killer.

She now lives in Florida, but keeps fighting for her from miles away.

“She was totally amazing. She was the life of the party. Always trying to, you know, help somebody,” Pasko said.

Mary Ann was three years older than Barbara.

She said her older sister was her backbone, filling in as both a mother and father for her.

Barbara holds on to their memories together.

“She always loved to sing. She always had her headphones in singing and dancing,” she said.

She’s upset Mary Ann’s case has dragged on unsolved for this long.

She wonders if surveillance cameras in the area captured anything.

But she was told detectives didn’t have luck with that at the time.

She’s asking anyone who knows something to come forward.

“I do have hope. I do I have faith. I hope and I’m not gonna give up no matter how long it takes me,” Pasko said.

Cleveland Police told us there have been no new leads or suspects.

And there are no photos or video connected with any suspect that have been made available to them.
