Euclid, Ohio (WOIO) - Residents in a condominium complex are no longer left in the dark; the months of their outdoor lights not working are now behind them.

“After over three months, we can actually see going to and from our cars and houses,” said Sharon Houser. “Colton was here with the 19 Troubleshooters; we have light; we can see.”

Houser and Barbara Wainwright say it isn’t just them; all of their neighbors in their corner of Benton Village Condominiums of 235th Street are excited to have a well-lit parking area and street.

“Hallelujah and praise Jehovah, we moved somebody to turn these lights back on,” said Wainwright. “It’s been almost four months; that was crazy.”

At the end of January, Wainwright and Houser told 19 News the lights had been out since October, but nothing had been done about the issue.

They both shared concerns about safety, with the early winter nights hiding ice and unstable footing for the seniors living there.

Houser also says there is lots of wildlife, which causes folks to be concerned when letting out pets at night without any lights.

19 News reached out to the person who handles maintenance for the complex and First Energy.

An account issue was straightened out, and hours later, a crew was out restoring light.

“It was very validating, and it felt good, almost powerful, you know, like yes, we teamed up, we did something, and Troubleshooters came out and took care of it, and we’ve got lights,” said Houser.
