Charging battery for E-bike sparks fire in Holmes County

WALNUT CREEK, Ohio (WOIO) - Firefighters say an e-bike battery is to blame for starting a fire Saturday morning in Walnut Creek.

East Holmes Fire & EMS say they were called out around 8:20 a.m. to an address off State Route 39 for a shop fire.

Firefighters say inside the building were animals including horses, cows and sheep.

But thankfully, they all got out safely after being released to a field.

According to the department, the cause of the fire was found to be a charging lithium battery for an e-bike.

The fire remains under investigation.
