Seeking Justice: Search continues for killer of young mother
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - This week marked 12 years without answers for the family of a woman brutally murdered in Cleveland.
Who killed Ashley Leszyeski?
19 Investigates first brought you her case six months ago.
We continue to check for updates in the investigation.
More than a decade later, the pain hasn’t faded for her family.
“It just hurts me that, like, life could have been so different if she was still here,” said Ashley’s sister, Heather Leszyeski.
Ashley was 21 years old with two toddlers at home when she went missing one day in early May 2013.
Weeks later, someone found her body in a vacant lot on E. 93rd Street and Anderson Ave.
The medical examiner determined Ashley died from several sharp force injuries.
Her sister said losing her devastated their family.
“Just like that. Like she was nothing. And then just dumped her to the side in a, in a open field, like she was a nobody,” she said.

A few other women were also murdered around E. 93rd Street around the same time period, leaving many people wondering if the murders were connected.
But Ashley’s family believes they are not connected.
Now all Heather Leszyeski can do is fight for her sister, hoping one day someone will be held accountable.
“And do I believe she is a beautiful angel looking down and watching everything? Yeah, but it’s never the same. And it never will be the same,” she said.
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office is working on this case after it was referred to them from Cleveland Police.
Their G.O.L.D. Unit works on cold cases.
We are told Ashley’s case remains under investigation.
