Anne Burrell, Food Network star and ‘Worst Cooks in America’ host, dies at 55, reports say
(Gray News) - Anne Burrell, known for hosting Food Network series including “Worst Cooks in America,” has died, according to multiple reports. She was 55.
Representatives confirmed Burrell’s death to People, which reported that she died Tuesday morning at her home in Brooklyn, New York.

“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend—her smile lit up every room she entered,” her family said in a statement. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”
Burrell began her television career as a sous chef on “Iron Chef America.” She then starred on other shows, including “Chef Wanted, Chopped, and Food Network Star”. Her most recent show at the network was “House of Knives”, which premiered in March, Deadline reported.
Burrell is survived by her husband Stuart Claxton, her stepson Javier and her mother Marlene, as well as her siblings Jane and Ben and her nieces and nephew.
No cause of death was given.
