37-year-old man dies after being stabbed in Akron

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A 37-year-old man has died after being stabbed inside a home Sunday morning.

According to the Summit County Medical Examiner, Akron police and EMS were called out to the house in the 300 block of Patterson Ave. around 3:45 a.m.

This is in the city’s North Hill neighborhood.

When they arrived, the victim was found with a stab wound to the neck.

He was rushed to Akron City Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:19 a.m.

His name has not been released.

Akron police arrested the suspect at the scene. He has been identified as Buddhi Tamang, 34.

According to police, Tamang and the victim were involved in an altercation earlier in the day and Tamang later returned and stabbed the victim while he was standing outside.

Tamang is charged with murder and is locked up in the Summit County Jail.
