Medical examiner identifies 26-year-old woman murdered in Akron

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - The Summit County County Medical Examiner identified the 26-year-old woman fatally shot at an apartment complex Saturday.

The victim is Malaysha Thomas, of Akron.

Police were called out to the 400 block of South Maple St. around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived, they found Thomas with a gunshot wound inside her apartment.

Thomas was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the shooting and there are no arrests.
