Cleveland Police arrest man accused of vandalizing Huntington Convention Center, causing $91K+ in damage

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland Police arrested the man accused of causing $91,000 in property damage at Huntington Convention Center.

According to a Cleveland Division of Police Facebook post, on March 28, officers responded to the convention center located at 300 Lakeside Avenue for a property damage report.

When officers arrived, they found that someone had forcefully used a metal object to damage two exterior doors, causing $12,000 in damage to each door.

Then, on April 14, officers were called to the same location for more property damage. Officers found 10 windows shattered.

According to the post, surveillance camera footage showed that the suspect used multiple bricks before leaving in a car.

At that point, police said the identity of the suspect was still unknown.

Three days later, officers responded to another report after someone had scattered screws across the driveway in an attempt to cause more damage, police said.

The suspect had fled the scene, but investigators were able to identify him and issue a warrant.

Blandin Metani was later arrested, and his case was sent to the Cuyahoga County Court.

Police said the total estimated damage from these incidents is $91,800.
