Trade the old and save on new: Meijer baby gear recycling is back
Drop off old car seats and strollers May 6-19 and get 25% off one baby gear item through June 2
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Meijer is bringing back its baby gear turn in event for its third straight year, giving families the opportunity to recycle their used goods and earn a discount on new gear.
From May 6 to May 19, customers can drop off their used car seats, booster seats, strollers, and other travel systems at participating Meijer supercenters. Drop off locations will be set up near the customer service desk.
Participants will receive an offer code added to their mPerks account for 25% off one item in the Meijer baby department, excluding apparel. The discount can be redeemed May 6 through June 2.
Meijer says the event has grown significantly since they started up in 2024. Reporting that they have collected nearly 18 tons of baby gear during last springs event, bringing the total recycled since the program launched to more than 30 tons.
“Being a good neighbor means investing in programs that make a real difference” said Don Sanderson, Meijer’s chief merchandising and marketing officer, in a statement. Meijer said it saw a 35% increase in baby gear brought in for recycling last years compared to 2024.
Meijer did not release a full list of participating store locations in the announcement. Customers can check with their local Meijer for details on eligible items and drop off instructions.
