Man accused of trying to lure 3-year-old girl with candy at park
MONTGOMERY, Ohio (WXIX) - A 54-year-old man is accused of trying to lure a 3-year-old girl with candy at a park in the northern Cincinnati suburbs, court records show.
Montgomery police arrested Woury Sow of Cheviot on a misdemeanor charge of “criminal child enticement.”
The child’s nanny reported it happened Tuesday at Swaim Park on Cooper Road, according to an affidavit filed in support of his criminal complaint.

The nanny alleges she took the girl out of a car and had her wait in the grass while she took another juvenile from the vehicle, the affidavit states.
“A man was walking in (the) grass and asked (the 3-year-old) if she knew him and asked if she would like a piece of candy and walked towards his car,” the affidavit states.
Police wrote in Sow’s criminal complaint that he was charged based on the child caretaker’s statement and his “admission.”
In court Wednesday, however, Sow pleaded not guilty as his lawyer insisted it’s all a big misunderstanding.
“He has a stable residence here,” his attorney said. “[He] indicates to me that this is all a misunderstanding; maybe a matter of not understanding English quite as well as he should. He has no record whatsoever.”
Sow does not understand English, according to his attorney.

Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Rodney Harris set bond at $15,000.
When Sow is released from jail, he will be under a court order to wear an electronic ankle monitor.
The child’s family sent a statement, saying:
"Thank you for reaching out. At this time, our family is not willing to discuss this matter publicly or participate in any interviews. We are focused on supporting our daughter and allowing law enforcement to handle the investigation. We appreciate your understanding and request that our family’s privacy be respected during this time."
