BRECKSVILLE, Ohio (WOIO) - Skiers were ready to hit the slopes.

Thomas Conti from the Boston Mills Ski Resort said skiing is a safe distraction after a rough year during the coronavirus pandemic.

“People have been working from home... schooling has been remote” Conti said. “It’s a way to get outside, embrace winter, get some exercise and have a great time.”

Jennell Vick is a season pass holder and said she comes here every year.

She’s ecstatic to be back at her favorite ski resort.

“We’ve been looking forward to ski season all year long, just hoping and praying that it would be open.” Vick said “[The resort] being open is a great sign for a lot of hope in 2021,” Vick said.

Conti said that the resort is doing many things to ensure safety amid the pandemic. Measures include the use of wide open spaces, ski lift restrictions and face mask enforcement.

“One of the greatest things about ski masks: It’s already a natural part of your ski attire at the ski resort,” he said.

The staff at Boston Mills wants you to have a good time at the start of, hopefully, a better year.
