CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Three years ago on Mother’s Day, a young entrepreneur was killed outside his shoe store.

His family and friends says he loved helping others succeed in life too. Now four young men facing murder charges in his death.

Dailyn Ferguson was shot in the head and killed while sitting in his parked car on May 8, 2022.

“This was life changing for all of us but we have had nothing but positive impact from just strangers and different people,” Dailyn Ferguson’s mother, Tanisha Ferguson, told 19 News.

It’s been an emotional journey for Tanisha Ferguson and not a day goes by she doesn’t think about her son, Dailyn.

“Dailyn was a motivator, he was a giver, if you thought something you couldn’t do he will find a way to prove to you it can be done,” she said. “He was that one who would tell you to watch what you say because you manifest anything so if you say things that want, positive things, you will get it.”

Dailyn owned a successful shoe store, DF Kickz in Lyndhurst.

He was parked outside that business when he was killed three years ago.

Four young men have been arrested and charged with his murder.

“I’m looking forward to to coming to maybe bringing those four guys closer to God because I’ve forgiven them. I have,” Tanisha Ferguson said. “I have some encouraging words for them because not only did I lose my son. But their parents lost them.”

Dailyn Ferguson‘s family and friends held a balloon release on the anniversary remembering the young entrepreneur who now lives forever in their hearts.

Ferguson will continue to lean on her faith to help carry her through this.

“How can I judge? Only God can judge,” she said. “And at this moment I want peace and the only way I can have peace is forgiving.”
