22-year-old Mentor sex offender charged with sex crimes against children
Anderson-Shockey is currently being held at the Lake County Jail on a $2 million bond.
WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (WOIO) - A 22-year-old Mentor man who is also a convicted sex offender was charged with multiple sex crimes against children.
According to court records, David Matthew Anderson-Shockey II is charged with felonies including gross sexual imposition, material harmful to juveniles and two counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.
Anderson-Shockey is listed as a Tier II sex offender.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson-Shockey was convicted of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor with sexual motivation back in October 2024.
19 News is working to learn more about the sentencing for his previous conviction.
According to an affidavit, on July 12, a mother reported to Willoughby Police that her 12-year-old son was sexually assaulted the day before while at a friend’s house by a 22-year-old man named David.
When officers interviewed the 12-year-old on July 14, he identified Anderson-Shockey as the suspect and shared that Anderson-Shockey worked at a local donut and pizza shop.
Anderson-Shockey’s sex offender registration with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office confirmed his place of employment.
In an interview with the police, the victim shared that Anderson-Shockey showed the victim, a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl, explicit videos of himself and others.
The two girls told police that Anderson-Shockey showed them the pornographic photos and videos on his phone. The 13-year-old girl said she was friends with Anderson-Shockey on Snapchat and could see his current location.
According to the affidavit, the victim told police that Anderson-Shockey followed him to bed and inappropriately touched him.
Authorities located Anderson-Shockey and took him into custody.
Anderson-Shockey is currently being held at the Lake County Jail on a $2 million bond.
The case has since been sent to the Lake County Grand Jury to decide whether or not to indict Anderson-Shockey on the sex crime charges.
