Another family speaks up about Concrete Ohio’s work

MENTOR, Ohio (WOIO) - Another family is trying to be made whole after a contractor left them with a driveway falling apart and no signs of returning.

“He did take his dad’s business, and I did give him the benefit of the doubt that he knew what he was doing,” said Kurt Keeper.

He and his wife Heather hired Concrete Ohio last fall to replace the driveway and back patio.

A few months later, both were already cracking and shifting, the driveway shifting so drastically that there is damage to the bottom of their garage frame.

“This is, this is crazy,” said Heather Keeper. “He’s blocked us on all our phone numbers.”

That is after months of trying to get the contractor to come back out and fix the work, which the Keepers say cost $31,000.

Texts Heather showed 19 News show the last response from Concrete Ohio dates back to June.

The warranty for the Driveway is still good until October, but the contractor won’t come back out to fix the issues.

It is the same story 19 News has told in Olmsted Township and Westlake, people left with damaged projects and out thousands of dollars.

The Keepers say they also found out after the fact that only some of the permits they paid Concrete Ohio for were secured, adding that Mentor’s Building and Housing Department is now investigating the matter.

19 News also reached out to the Ohio Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau for the area, to see what can be done not just for the Keepers but for everyone impacted by the contractor.

19 News was told the best thing to do is file complaints against Concrete Ohio with both offices.
