2 arrested after Parma teen fatally shot at party in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Parma teen at a party in Cleveland, police announced Thursday.

According to a release, the investigation into the death of 16-year-old Aniaz Paradiso on Sept. 28 near West 130th and Lorain Avenue has led to the arrest of two men.

Noah Gero, 18, of Parma, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.

Brandon Simpson, 35, of Cleveland, was arrested for murder.

Cleveland police homicide investigators continue to work to uncover what led to a deadly shooting in the Jefferson neighborhood early Sunday.

Parma City Schools confirmed Paradiso was a current student of Valley Forge High School. He was a former student of Parma High School.

On Monday, family and friends of the teen held a balloon release near where he was killed.

Suzann Minano, Paradiso’s aunt, is gripping with his untimely death.

“I was just blessed to have him, watch him grow, that’s all I can keep with me is the memories and times I shared with him,” Minano said.

According to the Cleveland Police, officers were called out around 12:20 a.m. for a group of people arguing and fighting near West 131st Street and Lorain Avenue.

Police said they later learned shots were fired during the party at a short-term rental.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound, later identified as Paradiso.

Cleveland EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators used the Real Time Crime Center, a helicopter and a K-9 Unit to track down a suspect.

“We need to find the person who did it because this isn’t right,” Minano said. “He should be here, he should be going to school tomorrow, getting ready for prom, wedding, kids, and it’s not going to happen anymore.”

This comes less than 24 hours after a shooting at a bar just a block away.
