Ohio will raise minimum wage in 2027

OHIO (WOIO) - Ohio’s minimum wage for non-tipped employees is rising to $11.40 an hour starting Jan. 1, 2027.

Base pay for tipped employees is rising to $5.70 an hour, according to the Ohio Department of Commerce.

The current 2026 minimum wage is $11 per hour for non-tipped employees and $5.50 per hour for tipped employees.

In 2006, Ohioans passed a constitutional amendment that raises the minimum wage each year to account for inflation.

If a business makes less than $420,000 annually, and for 14- and 15-year-olds, the state’s minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, which is the federal minimum wage.
