Stark County man arrested for 7th OVI

STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A 45-year-old Canton man was arrested this past weekend for his seventh drunk driving offense.

Lawrence Baldwin Jr. was pulled over by an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 27.

According to troopers, Baldwin went through a stop sign at the intersection of Market Avenue and 14th Street.

During the traffic stop, the trooper said he noticed several signs of impairment.

Baldwin was booked into the Stark County Jail on third degree felony OVI charges. He is also facing additional charges for failure to stop/yield at a stop sign, operator seatbelt, and OVI test refusal.

His prior OVI offenses happened in 2003, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2018, and 2020.
