Man jumps 30′ off Shoreway to avoid multiple Cleveland crashes

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A man jumped a wall 30′ on the Shoreway after three different accidents caused by icy conditions Sunday morning, according to Cleveland Fire Department.

Cleveland Fire said the crashes happened around 10 a.m. on the Westbound Shoreway at the West 3rd and West 6th entrances.

The three accidents involved three different vehicles.

An adult man was on the road from one of the earlier crashes, when an out-of-control vehicle slid toward him. To avoid being hit, he jumped the wall approximately 30′ and landed on his feet.

Cleveland Fire said the man survived the fall and was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Another woman involved in the crashes was also taken to the hospital.

Cleveland Fire said the shadow of the buildings on the Shoreway caused the icy conditions.
