Paige Coffey, missing since 2019, found dead in Cleveland
BRATENAHL, Ohio (WOIO) - The body of a woman missing since 2019, was found in Cleveland earlier this month, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirmed.
Paige Coffey was reported missing to the Bratenahl Police Department by family members on May 17, 2019 after she failed to call on Mother’s Day.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirmed her remains were located inside a garbage bag at a home in the 3800 block of E. 142nd St. in Cleveland on April 17.
Cleveland police said officers were called out to the vacant home around 12:15 p.m. on April 17 after human remains were discovered during a clean-up of the property.
The cause and manner of Coffey’s death remain under investigation.
Surveillance footage from May 7, 2019, showed Coffey in the Home Depot in Cleveland’s Steelyard Commons with a man she had been dating.
Coffey was 27 when she disappeared.
FBI agents have been assisting Bratenahl police with the investigation and a new agent was assigned to the case earlier this year.
Coffey’s family has never stopped searching for her and recently raised the reward for information to $15,000.
The FBI is also offering a $10,000 reward.
The Cleveland FBI also released a statement following the new developments released on Wednesday morning.
FBI Cleveland, together with Bratenahl Police and the Cleveland Division of Police, are saddened to learn the identity of the remains found to be that of Paige Coffey, who was reported missing to the Bratenahl Police Department on May 17, 2019. FBI Victim Services Specialists are assisting the family and ask for privacy.
As this is an open, ongoing investigation, no additional information is available at this time. The FBI is continuing the mission of mitigating threats against our communities, whether that is violent crime, drug or gang activity, or trafficking. We are steadfast and committed to working collaboratively and sharing resources to further protect the public.
“The passage of time does not diminish our pursuit of justice and FBI Cleveland, along with our law enforcement partners, remain unwavering in seeking justice for Paige,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge Tori Gaskill.

“Within the last 24 hours, the family of Paige Coffey was informed that her remains have been identified. They are devastated by this loss, and we at Cleveland Missing grieve alongside them. At this time, the family is unable to give any interviews. The loss is too fresh. They wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped search for Paige, and to the members of the media who kept her story alive.”
